The all ceramic porcelain implant gives a more natural look since there is no shadowing or darkness showing in the tissue, unlike the standard metal abutments which can make the tissue look darker.
What is an abutment?
An abutment is the part that is connected to the implant and rises above the gum.
Is it more expensive?
Yes, it is harder to fabricate and the components are more expensive.
It requires precision engineering by a milling process.
Are there different abutments ?
Yes, one is made of titanium that can shadow the tissue as it emerges from the bone. The other is made of white ceramic material.
Why would I chose a white ceramic abutment?
